1951 Herbert H. Benfield establishes H.H. Benfield Electric Supply Co., Inc. as one of the very few electrical materials wholesalers in the United States at the time
1965 Roy C. Kohli (Chairman of the Benfield Group) visits Japan as a marine to undergo joint training with Japan’s Self-Defense Force and is greatly impressed by the sincere and devoted nature of the Japanese populace
1970 U.S. Benfield becomes the official distributor of Crouse-Hinds(later Cooper Crouse-Hinds)
Many U.S. firms expand overseas in order to establish power plant and infrastructure businesses
1975 U.S. Benfield Electric International, Ltd. (BEI) is established to engage in overseas trade
